"First off don't take that 1 star rating into account where the guy says he can't partition using Norton or Acronis. I USED ACRONIS AND IT WORKS FINE - no problems whatsoever.
This is a pretty great machine. Powerful runs quiet even with the fan on it's still relatively quiet. Runs cool even on battery for hours.
Battery is decent given it is a 4-cell. I get 3.5 hrs on a full charge using MS office apps. I get about 2.5 hrs using Wifi and surfing the web while listening to music. Quite decent for a 4 cell as I said. Both on about 75-80% brightness.
Screen is bright and vibrant and clear. The bezel is a little bigger than it needs to be (ie. screen is not edge-to-edge) but it's still very nice. Mine has a built in camera that provides good picture quality.
Keyboard is really cool feels good. The arrow keys could have been sized and spaced a little better but no major complaints.
The mouse pad is good slick yet slightly grippy. The mouse keys are hinged which I'd never seen before and prefer the normal kind but since I use a wireless mouse or tap the pad to click I really only use it once in a while and overall those buttons are ok. There is a horizontal and vertical scroll area though it looks like there is only the vertical. The software allows you to tailor the area where the scroll becomes active. Good mouse software.
Speakers are pretty good! Pleasantly surprised for a "business" notebook. Nice blue lights add a slick touch.
There's a fingerprint reader and some security functionality that is good but I don't use.
It's not light but not as heavy as previous notebooks of the same size. That said it's a little thicker than I thought but in my mind I was comparing to an Apple which are quite thin. It's a good size and I use it as a desktop replacement.
Powerful fast and while mine came installed with XP it came with Vista upgrade and I've sent in for the Win7 upgrade now. Had a couple blue screens the first week but I didn't do anything to fix it and now after 2 months I've had no problems.
A great set of inputs/outs and other features.
I got mine in that nice deep red wine colour. I thought I ordered black but I guess not. I'm happy I didn't because lots of people complain the black is a fingerprint magnet. The bezel of mine is the glossy black and I can see what they mean. That said that black looks cool too and there is a little microfibre cloth included that you can wipe it down with.
I really like it. It replaces my 15" Dell Latitude from a few years back. I compared it with the two Dell 13" XPS setups the 13" HP Pavillion offering and pretty much every other 13" on the market. I paid $1000 CDN for the 2.1GHz/2GB ram/320GB 7200rpm HD/highgloss bright LCD screen.
Great value and great machine. Almost perfect."

Powerful...but a bit chunky
"I have used this laptop since a friend brought one a few months ago. Wowed by th spec. 320Gb 7200rpm disk ddr3 etc. The windows Vista 32 bit upgrade went fine but the enclosed hp driver disk did not leave the fingerprint sensor some other key trusted things working. Many won't know how to get these option running again. Only could call tech support and be calling within warranty.
Pleased overall. Don't order the gloss black that seems to come with all the pre-configured models as they always get that greasy fingerprint look even when hands are dry."

"I cannot create partitions using XP and Acronis or Norton Ghost. It is not possible to create an image either using the before products. This computer is to throw to the garbage"

"I ordered this the first day they came out wowed by the cool spec. 320Gb 7200rpm disk ddr3 etc. I was coming from a Dell latitude with a 12.1 screen so of course it would have to feel bigger but the whole thing is way thicker and clumsier than I had imagined. The windows vista 32 bit upgrade went fine but the enclosed hp driver disk did not leave the fingerprint sensor and some othe trusted thingy working. Looking now through HP forums etc. Hate to think what an "average user" would do call HP support I guess.
All in all pleased. Will need a while to get used to. Try NOT to order the gloss black that seems to come with all the preconfig models as they always get that greasy fingerprint look even if you don't have greasy hands."
